"Gave this to my mom who has everything. Right away we tried ice cubes on this, a regular cutting board, wood cutting board and the granite counterparts...we were all in shock how much faster this melted the ice. I was skeptical when I placed my order. I thought that I probably would lose the money on this kitchen gadget. Well, seeing is believing, and it actually works! I don't even have to remove the meat from the freezer bag to have it work. It's basically a sheet of Aluminium with four small legs underneath. It's covered with a Teflon non-stick coating. I'm happy with it. I am forgetful and this item helps when I forget to put out meat to thaw
