"These aren't mounted to the steps but to the sides and illuminating the steps. No concerns about stepping on and breaking the units or making the steps uneven with these little light "bumps". So far so good, I only had one faulty light (out of 32). I live in the mountains so it's pitch black at night, these guys to a great job. Recommend."
